Week #9

Wednesday, June 16th

Grizzlies scrimmaged 14 year old undefeated Thunderbirds in one of the best games they have played. In the two innings of play, the line up was batted through twice except for two players! With only two strike outs and five steals the Grizzlies aggresively battled to the end. Final score ended in Thunderbirds favor 5-7.

After the scrimmage the two teams played a full game. In this game, the line up was batted thru three complete times except for the number nine batter. Stronger bats forced the T-birds to work for the outs as again only two outs in the five innings came from strike outs! Brian Key aimed for the fence with his big double, improving his slugging average to .324. Leading RBI hitter, Mitch Binger crossed the plate for his first scoring run of the season and four RBI's improved the stats for other players.
